Newsom Eye offers routine eye exams with our board-certified optometrists and ophthalmologists. Having yearly eye exams is an important factor in maintaining proper eye health and may reveal vision conditions some of which you may not notice symptoms, but are important to catch in the early stages. Our Newsom Eye teams in Tampa, Sebring, and the surrounding areas use a variety of tests and advanced technology to evaluate any structural eye changes, monitor existing eye conditions, diagnose, as well as treat vision problems to help prevent possible vision loss in the future.

Take control of your vision and do not wait until you are experiencing problems!

Caring for your eyesight begins with complete eye exams, which are about more than just testing your vision. Complete eye exams area full checkup for the health of your eyes. Many eye care problems can develop over long periods of time, without symptoms, and can irreversibly damage your vision. Regularly scheduled complete eye exams are the best way to detect such conditions early and address them before they develop into more serious problems. Most adults should have a complete eye exam every one to two years. Children should receive complete eye exams regularly as they grow to detect and treat eye conditions that can affect their progress in school. Patients who are at a higher risk for certain conditions such as diabetes, a family history of glaucoma, and those over the age of 40 should have exams more frequently than just annual eye exams, as recommended by their Newsom Eye doctor.

Our doctors specialize in comprehensive eye care, including the treatment and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma and dry eye syndrome, and providing pre-operative and post-operative care for cataract and LASIK surgery patients.

In addition, Newsom Eye also provides routine eye exams for glasses and specialty contact lens fittings. Depending on your insurance, additional fees may apply for contact lens fittings or a refraction to obtain a prescription for glasses. We are happy to assist with any insurance information required to ensure you are provided with everything needed for your visit.

The frequency of routine eye exams will depend on several different factors such as:

  • Medical history
  • Family history
  • Social history
  • Age
  • Ethnicity
  • Occupation

We appreciate your help in sharing your eye and health history with us so that we can make the proper recommendations for you.
