Program Description:
Two Program Sessions:
Newsom Eye offers the following educational opportunities for rising high school seniors and college students.
- JUNE Session One: June 3-28
- JULY Session Two: July 8- August 2
Program Length: Four Weeks
Number of Positions Available in Program: Four
Program Starting Dates: June and July
Typical Weekly Hours: 32-40 hours
Requirement for Completion:
The Intern is required to –
- Successfully complete attendance of 30 hours/week or more; Arrive on time at 8:00am
- Proper dress (navy blue scrubs and tennis/running shoes) and clean appearance
- Completed HIPAA Training
- Sign Business Associate Agreement
- Be attentive, respectful, and helpful while in clinic or observing surgery
- Carry a notepad, keep notes, and review study guides, and please ask questions.
Program Stipend:
$1000 for each Session; will be prorated for missed hours/days.
(Pre-approved time off can be arranged for planned vacations or events)
College Scholarship:
An additional $1500 will be awarded to ONE Intern that most models the Newsom Eye Core Values
