Who performs LASIK at Newsom Eye?
Our LASIK team is led by founder and Medical Director T. Hunter Newsom, MD, a renowned expert in intraocular lens procedures with a background rooted in tens of thousands of corrective procedures and eye surgeries.
Will I meet my surgeon before the procedure?
Yes. Your consultation is with the surgeon who will operate, and they review your measurements and your plan with you directly.
Who else is involved in my care?
A full clinical team handles your measurements, counselling and follow-up alongside your surgeon. Vision and safety are the priorities that shape how the team works.
Can my own optometrist stay involved?
Yes. Newsom Eye’s co-management program is designed so that you keep your primary eye care provider while having surgery with us.
How experienced is the team?
Newsom Eye has performed more than 100,000 surgeries across 25+ years serving Florida patients.
Where will my LASIK be performed?
At one of our three AAAHC-accredited surgery centers. Your surgical coordinator will confirm which one and what to expect on the day.
Who do I call after surgery?
The office where you are seen. Your discharge instructions include the number, and someone is available for urgent post-operative questions.
How do I book a consultation?
Schedule online or call (813) 908-2020. The consultation determines whether LASIK, PRK or the EVO ICL is the right procedure for your eyes.
