Surgery Resident

Dr. Caboku is a Newsom Eye 2024 Optometry Resident in the accredited Newsom Eye Residency Program. Residents are carefully selected to join this competitive program based on their education, experience, skillset, and passion for optometry. This program is led by Eric Fazio, OD, Medical Director of Optometry and Primary Eye Care Physician at Newsom Eye.

Throughout her clinical training, Dr. Caboku has gained experience managing and treating ocular diseases, pre-operative and post-operative care of cataract and glaucoma surgery and contact lens fittings. She is especially passionate about dry eye care and specialty contact lens fittings.

While completing her Doctorate of Optometry, Dr. Caboku immersed herself into various research studies with special interests in oculomotor functionality as well as visual processes in athletes. She has presented this research at various conferences and has contributed to work published in a peer-reviewed journal.

Dr. Caboku was born in Michigan, but claims Clearwater, Florida as her hometown! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, cooking and playing pickleball.
